What is the difference between a web page and a landing page?

Hi today I just wanted to talk about the difference
between a webpage and a landing page, because it’s something I get asked a lot. There’s
not a huge difference except that you can get to a webpage from lots of different places
like a search engine or a referral site, already on that site and
looking through different menus and pages, there’s many different ways of getting to
a webpage. A landing page is built for an ad that’s running or an event and has a specific
goal you need it to do for that event. It looks similar to a webpage but you can only
get to it through the medium that you want, like a google or facebook ad, an event booking
page.. that is how you get to it. There’s only one way in which means you can track
it and see exactly what your return on investment is. You can make sure then that whoever comes
to that page is doing what you want them to do. The landing page will be very specific
and should mirror the ad, so it will be in the same voice, it will have the same kind
of imagery, it will probably have more info than the ad does – it might have a video of
someone talking about what it is that you’re selling or what event you’re putting on, or
what valuation you can do, it could have a download or a form to fill out. It could even
have a payment portal on it, but what it will probably have is some social proof, which
means other people who have also used you for that specific thing and have had a good
experience. This could be from your google reviews or reviews from elsewhere, people
who’ve written and said ‘you’re amazing!’, if we’re talking the specifics of estate agency,
it could be you’re asking people to book a valuation with you, and then there’s other
people talking about how they went on the market with you and had an amazing experience,
you sold or rented their property and they love you. You want to have a form for them
to fill in or some data capture, and once you’ve completed all the tasks on the page
you can direct them to a nice ‘thank you’ page which will show other pages you might
want them to look at, you might have some blogs written or videos, or any relevant pages
for people coming to that ad you want them to explore. It’s a nice way to keep them on
your site and filling them in on who you are only once they’ve completed your task. Hopefully
that explains, it’s essentially a page without the bells and whistles without distractions
like property searching etc that you might find on your home page. One function
and one function only. If you would like some landing pages, please get in contact.
