Welcome to the Algonquin Students’ Association

Hi there. Welcome to Algonquin College, my
name is Victoria Venture and I am the President of the Students’ Association. The Students’ Association is an organization
that strives to create an environment that inspires a passion for student success. One of the major ways that we do this is by
running a variety of services and facilities to help make your time at Algonquin the best
it can be. My first stop in the morning is the Starbucks,
which keeps many of us fuelled throughout our semesters. Also the Clubs & Communities office, which
is a great place to visit if you are interested in getting involved and meeting like-minded students
on campus. We also have the Algonquin Commons Theatre
where we host a variety of events ranging from big name celebrities to free student
movie nights. The Observatory, which is our campus lounge
and a great place to grab some delicious food and hang out with friends after classes. The Food Cupboard which provides emergency
food relief to students in need. The gym where you can cheer on the Thunder
Varsity Athletics teams or join one of our intramural sports leagues. We have our Fitness Zone which is our state
of the art facility that is a great place to get in shape and destress. We also have our Impact Zone which is open
to all levels of experience where you can learn a variety of Martial Arts styles. We have our Pride Centre which is a drop in
space that offers a safe, inclusive environment for all students to feel welcome on campus. And we have our SA Front Desk located in the
Student Commons behind the big tree. Here you can access all kinds of services
like printing, booking a group study room, and ask about our student health & dental
plan. For more information about all that the SA
has to offer be sure to visit us at our website at And don’t forget to follow us Snapchat, Instagram,
Facebook & Twitter. We look forward to seeing you around campus
and have a great year.
