Screening Site Update 3 26 20

– I’m Julie Humphreys
with the city of Spokane Public Safety. We want to tell you
about some new hours here at the drive through
screening site for COVID-19. They are Monday through
Friday, 10 am to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 3:00 p.m. The drive through site is
for people with symptoms of COVID-19, a fever, a cough, shortness of breath. If you are sick and if you
fall into a high risk category, over age 60, you have an
underlying health issue or if you’re a health care
provider or first responder, this screening site is
a good option for you to be further assessed by
health care professionals. They’ll take your
temperature and other vitals while you stay in the car and determine if you do need
an actual COVID-19 test. If you do, it will be
administered right here at the fairgrounds. – This community drive
through screening site was really designed to de-compress the emergency departments and urgent cares from a bunch of respiratory illnesses so they can remain open to
serve the broader community for all kinds of things that
come through their doors without inadvertently
infecting a whole waiting room that’s crowded of people. I think Spokane Regional Health District and all of the health care
partners would say that so far, it feels like it’s
been really successful. – [Julie] The drive through
clinic will remain open as long as the need for it exists. And, as long as there are
tests and supplies available.
