House Sitters Web Page Introduction

Welcome to HouseSit Match. As a regular
house sitter myself, I value the friendly advice and support available through a
network of known colleagues. That’s why I started the network; to share
house-sitting, opportunities and knowledge, making affordable travel a
practical possibility. In this video I share top tips for how to make more of
your membership; I explain how we work highlighting features of the site that
might be of particular use. Got a question? Ask questions via our live chat
window, which you’ll find that the outer edge of your screen whether you’re on a
computer, tablet or handset. Post questions in the box and we’ll respond as
soon as we can! A top tip for new house sitters; get verified. Please take a
minute to go through the identity check procedure. The short process will ask for
a few identity check items and will help you to secure the tick on your profile
to say your identity has been verified. Work with us to confirm your identity
and other members will quickly gain confidence in your profile.
Home owners will always prefer sitters who’ve been verified. Now take a little
time to build your house at a profile that describes your experience and
aptitude for house and pet sitting. This is best achieved with good photos of you
and a written profile description, that tells other members something
appropriate about yourself. How to build and edit your profile: log into your
account, find the my account button on the top right of your screen, click my
profile in the drop down list, find the settings wheel which is to the right of
your profile picture, then click edit profile in the drop down list. After
making any changes you want, don’t forget to click the ‘update profile’ button at
the very bottom of the screen to save your edits. The premium account gives
bigger profile adverts, you get 800 words instead of 150, seven
photos instead of one and you can publish a video. The premium
house-sitter adverts are featured in our listing so are seen more frequently by
homeowners. To upgrade to a premium house-sitter account find ‘my account’ top
right of your screen and click. Look down until you see HouseSit Matche
subscription panel, click on the link that reads ‘upgrade or change your
subscription’ and select the upgrade option. A final top tip for me; get ahead
and prepare with a police check and a couple of references. Prepare for your
first match and ensure you have a current police check from the country
where your resident and a couple of references from contacts who know you
well. With the checks and your references at the ready you can quickly match up
with a homeowner, for a house-sit that suits your experience. And finally happy
matching!
