Dr. Wayne Myles: There are number of reasons
to need a crown. The most obvious is when a tooth is broken
and it needs to be fixed. There are other reasons for a crown. When a tooth reaches a point where the filling
is too structurally wide, putting in another filling is under engineering the tooth. It’s going to cause it to break. So what we need to do is we need to figure
out at what point has the tooth had enough where it needs the support of a crown. And that’s where we determine when it needs
the support and strength.
