Dr. Bobby Birdi Explains Why Single Tooth Implants over a Fixed Bridge

“Now what if you are missing just like a
front tooth?, why a dental implant over traditional dentistry?”
“well the best thing about a single front tooth is that, a lot of times people don’t
have big crowns or filings on the teeth and on the side so shaving down two teeth for
a bridge on one on each said, just because we need room for a bridge, for me it’s kinda
difficult to tell a patient to do that. we don’t do a lot of bridges in our office
because of that reason. A dental implant is gonna stimulate that bone, that when the tooth
has been missing for the rest of that patient’s life, it’s gonna feel or look just like
a real tooth a lot of times. So we are able to make it look really close to what you would
feel like with a real tooth. A lot of times, you see a lot of people showing lot’s of
pictures of the restorations and everything and a lot of times it’s hard to determine
where the tooth is and where the implant is. So we can provide a great service for someone
who’s missing just one tooth and it’s something that I think is much superior to
bridge.” “and that single tooth, after getting a
tooth pack, that could last as long as you…” “yeah, it could last your entire life, you
know a lot of times, you can get an implant, so it eliminates a lot of these things.”
“how long do bridges last?” “I would say a bridge last’s anywhere
from five to fifteen years depending on someone’s mouth and it could last, like people could
say I’ve had this bridge for thirty years, that’s true, there’s always gonna be people
who are outliners and anomalies but in general bridges only last in that range roughly.”
“so maybe a dental implant is less expensive in the long run, you just get a dental Implant?”
“well getting a dental implant is almost always less expensive, absolutely.”
