  1. IGTV is massive, no other release has made such an impact where I think YouTube is in trouble. Again when creators start using IGTV and also, some videos don’t do to well on YouTube as it would on IG because the market is different. Example, a Valentino cat walk would probably get more views on IG then YT

  2. I agree with you YouTube mobile sucks…. and I never new IG tv was a thing thing… I might check it out but tell them to pay you for you plug marketing for life

  3. I don’t get how this man put so so so much effort and money for his content, yet the views he gets is a joke. I mean think about it.. he has a team that is dedicated full time on all major platforms and still the results are weak, Gary knows this is real talk. Just shows you how messed up society is, bunch of fucking sheeps. Majority of people around the world should be on Gary’s platforms, you look at the numbers and it just gets me every time.

  4. Also, I'm sure I speak for a lot of people when I say you should bring the AskGaryVee show back. It's great content!

  5. That comment thing Gary was talking about happens to me to. It shows only 1 or 2 comments on a post. Not sure why

  6. It’s nice to view the unpolished, barely edited behind the scenes working of your office and meetings. That shows how ideas start, change, get abandoned or grow into the realization that the public sees. Awesome view of the process. 💪🏼💯

  7. I’ve put off getting my face on YouTube but I’m feeling like IGTV may be better for me as a new 50 year old female blogger. It just feels more natural. I look forward to seeing what you and I feel in 3 months x I wonder if it’s because I’m getting more confident because I make calls with FaceTime 🤔

  8. I'm honestly bearish on IGTV, I got it out of curiosity but I've never used it as an active musician on Instagram and even less consume it at all, I use YouTube for long form and Instagram for short. I don't notice any hype or relevance around it at least in my environment.

  9. One thing that annoys me with IG TV is the inability to just rotate a video to be horizontal on IG TV – I thought this would be like a natural feature.

But instead – we whack our videos into FCPX and then re render and export to do just this sigh

  10. Gary, Are you aware of Orfium & if so what is your opinion on this platform?
(Music platform which combines music royalty management, commercial & sync other licensing management, ability to sell your music directly to your fans like garageband, a community wall like facebook, streaming is their aim combined with social and music management for artists). Sounds like it has a ton of potential would & I would love to hear your 2 cents when ever you have a chance to check it out if it isn't already on your radar!

  11. One thing I love about IGTV is you can upload from a desktop instead of having to transfer the videos to your cell phone.

  12. I only watch sports on tv..everything else is you tube! We need a Sports app so I don’t have to pay $180 direct tv bill👍

  13. love how gary is just randomly chewing on the pen 😂i have been neglecting instagram mostly, since i like longer content (i put all my stuff on youtube). but now with the long-form format i might start experimenting with it more! 💪

  14. Build an app Gary. That’s how you get the jets. Make your own social network. Document your life gone mobile

  15. so many people havent caught on to igtv right now.people dont know it exist or how to download or access it. it nay take time but we will see how things change in the next 6 months

  16. IGTV content is "fillers", I'd rather watch tv ads than what is being posted there. Everyone is creating content or posting old stuff so desperately because it's a new thing and you "should" be posting. It's not natural, feels extremely forced. Youtube is the sweet spot between Netflix and short video. You prepare for Netflix, and you watch random short videos when you're numb and bored- you can't even search for specific stuff on IGTV. On youtube maybe you're bored but you're alert and curious, and you start with an intention that is very likely to be fulfilled with a 10 min video.

  17. love the honesty here, Gary. It's always good to have the team prepared with the article/content for the new stuff, but you can't be giving out opinions on something day 1… they're still working on the platform at that point and it'll be changing a lot over the next 90 days as users start interacting.

  18. Interesting vid Gary! I think pepople need to think outside the box! look everyone gets complacent because of "oh this is how I do now" kind of thinking. Truth is it reminds me of exercise we did in school where you had to work with in certain set limitations and still produce. Or in the Gym doing MMA one guy can only box and the other guy can only wrestle now go! If you can break out and use this platform like no one else has seen before you'll make IG TV your bitch! I'm thinking here using the Split Screen effect to tell your story. https://youtu.be/FwktA0Fu2mw

  19. Team Gary, if you bring the AskGaryVee show back, I’m more than happy to come on the Shoooooooooooow!!!

  20. Gary, I saw that StockX sticker on the computer in this video. I have a connection with the company if you want to come tour the facility and meet the CEO. This company is taking off fast, I'd love for you to come see what we are working on for the future.

  21. If Gary hasn't thought much about IG TV then I'm starting to think Trash Talk with T-Pain isn't going to happen…..

  22. I only discovered IGTV 2 weeks ago. Why would IG try to emulate something that is already successful in other platforms?? (i.e. FB live, Periscope, YouTube Live) Am I missing something?

  23. Hi Gary 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Need to start and get my startup off the ground this year plz help just been in Israel and boy what a crazy story to tell I went to google campus and there was a young start up doing the exact same thing what Iam trying to do by myself and make it better. Currently in Dubai any advice in the VR field

  24. Good stuff GV…. it mite just be me but id get extremely annoyed every time he interrupts me if I were them.

  25. Funny you mention about not having IGTV and the comments. One of my accounts STILL does not have the HIGHLIGHTS feature. It is sooooo annoying. My other two accounts have it. Come on now Instagram, what is going ooon??

  26. Deligate/outsource = new age hustle. Its pretty easy to be working 16 hour days if your hustle is purely deligating task and answering questions about your opinion. Definitely gotta do more of this myself, I work to hard🙄

  27. In terms of Digital Marketing, is not about getting the audience "attention" but the audience "addiction" habits. #digitalmarketing : https://www.linkedin.com/in/carrillo-pinto-913a6385/detail/recent-activity/shares/

  28. IGTV sounds like the perfect place for vloggers now though

Still there could be the bias of us guys watching horizontal content since the dawn of TV that now we're resisting the horizontal view content just because we got the hang of the former. It's just like the concept of notch, many didn't liked it yet it's too early and also Zuck might be experimenting (because he plays the long game and also because he has the leverage to do so) and maybe add both horizontal and vertical videos. Idk where it'll go I just know that the acceptance of vertical videos as much as horizontal is very possible. Maybe it'll be like Android vs iOS

Came from the podcast episode though (yes you need to do more throwback Thursdays, that shit was awesome)

  29. Great content Gary! As I'm inching my way of helping local businesses in the social media world, this has been incredibly valuable. And for what it's worth, I watch YouTube on my TV via xbox, and bring up the mobile app to leave comments. ✌

  30. "YouTube isn't mobile." .. Talking weird. That's a weird statement. Today, who waits until they get to a computer or laptop to watch YouTube? People pop out their phone and watch videos on the go, all of the time and the experience is fluid. With Chromecast I go from phone to TV with a click of a button. That was four years ago. Rethink that statement, Gary.

  31. Im sitting on the trakk while watching this and while i am watching this i glance up to see a young girl in front of me. Watching a vertical video. But she isn’t watching IGTV she’s watching musica.ly. So maybe it not just an attack on YouTube but also on musicaly’s ever growing audience. Now even if it’s not totally similar but it’s the vertical point of it that is interesting. Musically now has 200million users. A network built for just vertical videos. Maybe Instagram is not focusing so much on the short term but building something or attempt to create something for generation Z.

  32. Instagram really needs to do something about their updates release. So many people do not have features on their main accounts, but have those very features on their other accounts. For example, I still do not have Gifs, Polls, Sliders, or Questions for my insta stories on my main account, but my 3 other accounts and any new ones I make, they do. Super frustrating.

  33. I love how candid Gary V is! This feels like watching unedited behind the scenes footage. You're content distribution method is pretty genius

  34. Those last two minutes specifically are gold. Especially the "Well that's because most people are short term and not smart"
Build your audience while it's free to do so, don't care about the monetisation, care about growing the audience. Then when monetisation DOES come to that platform, you've already got an audience while the rest of the world are playing catch up because they didn't want to loose some monetisation on one platform by making free content on another platform. They then have to build that audience, meanwhile people with the long term vision are now profiting from the long term work.
