American Heart Association, Life is Why Times Square Signs

I was born with a congenital heart defect.
When I was six years old I had open heart surgery. My brother when he was 23 was diagnosed
with cancer and a few months into the chemotherapy he had a heart attack. So I had a stroke six
years ago and those doctors, they found a whole in my heart. I’m a cardiologist and
a member of the American Heart Association. My Patients are why. My mom, Grace, is why.
My family is why. If I can do something and if I can inspire other people to do anything
to help prevent what’s preventable I want to help do that. So my brother is why.

  1. Two members of my immediate family are seriously affected. One has heart disease and the other has a congenital heart defect. They are my "why"
