40 Million Americans to Bet on NFL Games!

Hey there! How the hell are you? J. Todd here in front of MGM Grand… and here’s what’s happening This Week in Gambling! Hello friends! What a time to be alive! The NFL season is off and running, fantasy
leagues are up and running, and sports betting? Well that’s still this week’s big story! According to a study from the American Gaming
Association nearly 40 million Americans will bet on NFL games this year… that’s 15 percent of the entire population
of the country! And 75 percent of those bettors say they’re
more likely to watch an NFL game if they’ve got money on it. How’s that for a bump in the ratings? Also, on our last program I told you that
Rhode Island was planning to have mobile sports betting up and running before the start of
the NFL season… and guess what? True to their word that’s
exactly what they did! Additionally I told you about six states where
sports betting was about to launch soon, and that when one of them went live I would
come out here and update you, so… Here I am! Welcoming Indiana to the party! Hooray! If all of that wasn’t enough, Caesar’s and
William Hill continue to open new sports books and expand into new states. Right now Caesars is operating in
seven American states and, not to be outdone, William Hill is operating in eight! So, week one is done! We’ve got 16 more to look forward to, plus
the playoffs! All is right with the world! Unless of course Antonio Brown jacked up your
fantasy league… Not that that’s what happened to me!!! Many people in this industry, including myself,
believe that sports betting regulation will open the door for online gambling expansion
across America. And with that in mind, did you hear what happened
in Pennsylvania? Not one… not two.. but three progressive jackpots were hit in
the state over a four-day window! And what’s really weird is they were all hit
on the same game! The big wins all came on the Divine Fortune
online slot from Net Entertainment, and all told the lucky players took home collectively
over two hundred and eighty thousand dollars! Finally this week, a man in a South Dakota
casino thought police were looking for him recently… So when he saw officers walk into the casino,
he high stepped it to the bathroom… but he didn’t hide… he went up into the ceiling! True story! Things came to a crashing end shortly thereafter when the ceiling he was hiding in gave way
over the casino floor… where he was left hanging… in front of officers… entangled in wires… who then arrested him… and that’s not even the funny part! You see, he was arrested for causing two thousand
dollars worth of damages to the casino ceiling, and for nothing else! Turns out he was not the man
police were looking for! And you thought you were having a bad week! Zest-fully clean!
